Ben Peck Joins MCEDA and Port Authority as Project Manager

Ben Peck joins Morgan County Economic Development Association and
Decatur-Morgan County Port Authority as Project Manager

Decatur, AL - Morgan County Economic Development Association and Decatur-Morgan County Port Authority announce the hiring of Ben Peck as Project Manager. Peck will oversee the development of the new Morgan Center Business Park and help manage the Decatur-Morgan County public port facilities along the Tennessee River. He also will help with the attraction of and assistance to domestic and international businesses as well as coordinating and implementing programs and projects that support commercial, office, industrial and port developments.

Most recently, Peck worked in Tuscaloosa for O’Conner Construction Management as a Project Engineer. He managed project costs and insured change order validity for the new Tuscaloosa Federal Building, approximately a $50 million project. Peck has also worked as a Research Assistant for the University of Alabama and he interned for Golden & Associates Inc., out of Birmingham.

Jeremy Nails, President and CEO, stated, “We are pleased to have Ben join our team. His background in Civil Engineering and Construction Management will allow us to move forward with the development of the Morgan Center Business Park, and with other programs and projects we have in the pipeline. We look forward to Ben helping us achieve our goals and objectives, now and in the future.”

Peck, a Hartselle native, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Construction Engineering and his Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama. He is a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors.
