The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently presented its highest honor for employee health and safety programs, the Voluntary Protection Program Star award, to Toray Fluorofibers (America) Inc.
The VPP Star program is designed for work sites with comprehensive, successful safety and health management systems. Certification signifies the facility achieved injury and illness rates below the industry group national average and met the criteria for safety and health programs.
OSHA conducted an audit of Toray’s Decatur facility and its programs during a visit Aug. 11-14 and determined that it had exceeded industry standards of occupational safety and health.
